There are different types of horses you might choose depending on the situation:

Normal horse: medium speed and resistance.

Racing horse: little resistance and maximum speed.

Elite horse: maximum resistance and medium speed. This is the best type of horse for any situation but it is also the most expensive one.

Get the best horse of Red Dead Redemption 2 – Where is it?

The most interesting are the Elite horses and you can find them in the Blackwater stable once you unblock this zone in the epilogue. If you want a good Elite horse you can find them in Saint Denis stable, available from chapter 4.

Saint Denis

You’ll visit Saint Denis in chapter 4, even though you can go before chapter 4 if you want. The stable is located in southern part of the town, near the shore.

Blackwater

Tonic

Energy or resistance tonics allow you to fill your horse’s energy. However, they cost and you can buy them at the stables.
