Fans of the manga were excited to learn that Kazuaki Shimada, who is well known for his work in The Promised Neverland, and Mahou Shoujo Nante Mouiidesukara was the one who adapted this into an anime. In addition, it would also be directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi, the man behind Hunter x Hunter 1999 and Mobile Suit Gundam.
The voice actors for the main characters include Takuya Eguchi (who voiced Shuji Hanma in Tokyo Revengers and Soei in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime), who is voicing Loid Forger, Atsumi Tanezaki (who voiced Dai in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai and Vivy in Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song) who is voicing Anya Forger, and Saori Hayami (who voiced Rachel in Tower of God and Yamato in One Piece) who is voicing Yor Forger.
With such an iconic team, the release of the first episode of Spy x Family has been long-awaited and highly anticipated.
But did it live up to our expectations? The short answer is yes.
The humor translated well from the manga, the animation and audio were superb, and not to mention, the intro and outro songs were incredible. There was a chance that our expectations could have been crushed, but the team behind Spy x Family delivered greatness.
