ESO’s The Witches Festival: Gain Event-Specific Rewards and a Limited-Time 100% XP buff

Enjoy the spooky season in Elder Scrolls Online and become the monster-slaying hero needed in Tamriel during the 2022 Witches Festival Event. The in-game Witches Festival begins October 20, 2022, at 10 AM EDT and concludes November 2, 2022, at 10 AM EDT.

In an official post, ESO announced that players can acquire special event-specific rewards, battle unique bosses, and earn redeemable event tickets during this event. Full details on the event have been included below. Be sure to check out our Elder Scrolls Online section for more great content!

The Witches Festival In-Game Event

How To Take Part In The Festivities

To enjoy this spooky season festivities, players will need to complete the following steps:

1. Navigate to the Crown Store and acquire the free quest, “The Witchmother’s Bargain.”
   1. You can also pick up this quest by speaking with the Crow Caller, located outside each version of Olyve’s Brewery in Stonefalls, Glenumbra, or Auridon.
2. Complete the introductory quest to receive the Witchmother’s Whistle tool.
   1. You don’t need to acquire the Witchmother’s Whistle if you completed the quest in previous years’ events.
3. Use the whistle to receive a two-hour +100% XP buff and to summon the “Witchmother’s Cauldron,” which you can use to polymorph yourself into a suitably scary skeleton.
   1. You do not have to use the Witchmother’s Cauldron to gain the XP buff, just the whistle. You cannot summon the Cauldron in Cyrodiil.

The Witches Festival Spooky Season Goodies 

During the Witches Festival Event, when you defeat a boss monster, you will pick up a Plunder Skill Container along with your regular rewards. This will contain some of the following items:

• A chance for one or more of the following items:
  • Witch-Tamed Bear Dog pet fragment
  • Alchemy reagents
  • A festival-themed furnishing recipe
  • A festival-themed provisioning recipe
  • A complete festival-themed furnishing
  • A festival-themed treasure
• A chance for one of these items:
  • A Hollowjack-style item
  • A Dremora-style items
• A heap of gross, creepy items:
  • Worms, Crawlers, Guts, Insect Parts

When you defeat a different type of boss for the first time in a day, you will also receive a unique Dremora Plunder Skull. The skill contains the above items in addition to the following:

• Dremora motif chapter
• A chance for one of the following items:
  • A Witches Festival Writ
  • A Glenmoril treasure map or Glenmoril armor outfit style page
  • A Grave Dancer weapon-style page
  • NEW Ghastly Visitation memento rune box
  • NEW tradeable style page for the Witchmother’s Servant armor style

The different types of bosses that players will face include:

• Arena bosses
• Invasion bosses (from Dark Anchors, Harrowstorms, Volcanic vents, etc.)
• Delve bosses
• Final dungeon bosses
• Public dungeon bosses
• World bosses.

The Witches Festival Creepy New Event-Specific Rewards

During the event, players can also gain the daily quest, “Plucking the Crow,” by speaking with the Witchmother Taerma. She can be found inside Olyve’s Brewery and at every Impresario tent throughout Tamriel.

Once you have completed this quest, you will receive the reward of The Crowborne Horror Dremora Plunder Skull. The reward provides a slight chance to grant you a massive cache of tradeable Witches Festival items instead of regular Plunder Skull items. Some of these include:

• 10 Witch-Tamed Bear Dog fragments
• The FULL style book for the Dremora motif
• A folio of ALL Glenmoril treasure maps
• A Ghastly Visitation memento rune box
• A random Witchmother’s Servant style page

Impresario & Event Tickets

During the event, players can earn two Event Tickets from the first boss they defeat each day, earning up to 28 tickets in total. However, you can only hold up to 12 tickets at a time. So be sure to spend them because if you earn more than the ticket cap, you’ll lose the extra tokens!

Throughout this event, the Impresario will stock:

• All three Soulfire Dragon Illusion pet fragments:
  • Hallowed Hourglass Basin
  • Illuminated Dragon Scroll
  • Kvatchian Incense
• The first fragment for the Sacred Hourglass of Alkosh furnishing:
  • Engraved Glassblowing Tools
• Ghastly Visitation Memento
• Witchmother’s Servant armor-style pages
• Bone dust Pigment
• Event-specific furnishings:
  • Ruby Candlefly Gathering furnishing
  • Webs, Cone furnishing
  • Specimen Jar, Spare Brain furnishing
  • Hollowjack Lantern, Ouroboros furnishing
  • Vampiric Lamp, Azure Tall furnishing
  • Vampiric Lightpost, Azure Single furnishing
• Group Repair Kit
• Companion Guild Commendations
• Witches Grab Bag
  • This is purchasable only if you haven’t yet collected all the items contained within

Something to note is that this is the first opportunity to begin collecting the fragments for 2022’s final event morphing collectible, the Sacred Hourglass of Alkosh. The collectible is a furnishing that allows you to change the time of day in your home!
